
CEO- GMRICS was invited to serve as Guest of Honour at the National Conference on “Critical and Energy Minerals in Northeast India: Potential and Possibilities”, scheduled for 9th to 12th November, 2025 in Guwahati, organized by SECONE Society in collaboration with Geology Department of Royal Global University, Guwahati, Assam. CEO- GMRICS delivered his talk as keynote speaker for the Ice-Breaking session of the conference on exploration strategies, discoveries, and geological controls of critical and energy mineral deposits across India, with a special focus on the NE region and opportunities for researchers from NE India in this field.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) executed between GMRICS and Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara for academic cooperation and the selection of fresh graduates from the university for GMRICS, campus interview was conducted at Department of Geology, M.S. University, Vadodara by GMDC and GMRICS on 24th September, 2025. Two young Geologists were selected.
As a part of Phase-I evaluation drilling in the Brown Field area of the Main Ambaji block (184 Ha), second drilling contract of 15000 m awarded to M/s. M/s Geoservices Maritime Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai has been commenced on 13th July, 2025. Drilling is planned with a depth range of 500 m to 1000 m.
Field training on “geological mapping and exploration techniques for critical minerals” has been conducted from 05th May 2025 to 04th June, 2025 for ten post-graduate students of IIT-ISM, Dhanbad and three post-graduate students of M S University, Baroda at Copper Project Ambaji. The training included lectures by experts from GMRICS followed by extensive field visits and practical training. Shri Roopwant Singh, IAS, MD, GMDC Ltd., graced the valedictory function on 04th June, 2025 and distributed training certificates to the participants
Professor Dr. Deepak Srivastava visited CPA from March 22 to March 27, 2025, to provide his expert opinion. He is a renowned expert in the field, and his expertise was required for the CPA. He interacted with geologists from GMRICS and trained them in shear zone identification. His practical training infused enthusiasm into young geologists and created interest in structural geology.
Dr. Sinha, CEO of GMRICS, participated in the National Workshop on “Strengthening R&D in Indian Mineral and Metal Sector—Policy Framework for Sustainable Growth, 2025,” held at CSIR-IMMT in Bhubaneswar on March 19, 2025. His contributions to the workshop and valuable suggestions during the discussions were appreciated. These suggestions have been included in the comprehensive report submitted to the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, regarding R&D in the mineral and metal sector.
