MoU between Gujarat Mineral Research Industrial Consultancy Society (GMRICS), and Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee- of 21st November 2025.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was entered on the 21st November 2025 by and between the Managing Director GMDC, acting through the Chief Executive Officer of the Gujarat Mineral Research Industrial Consultancy Society (GMRICS), and Indian Institute of Technology – Gandhinagar acting through Dean, Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SRIC).

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R), an academic institute of national importance and a statutory body existing under the provisions of the Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee) Act, 2001 having its main campus and administrative office at Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India – 247667. The IIT-R is a premier institute that provides support in geology, mineral engineering, and metallurgy to the mineral industry. The institute aims to expand its expertise in the critical mineral sector in line with government policy and has recently been recognised as a Centre of Excellence under the critical mineral mission (Ministry of Mines, Govt of India). The available experts may collaborate on projects in Gujarat, through separate specific written agreement, especially within GMDC’s mines for exploration, mining, and beneficiation.

Realising the mutual interests, the Parties have agreed to create a long­ term partnership in Research, Education, and Training, including undertaking collaborative Research in the areas of mutual interest supported by funding through the respective institutions according to the broad framework outlined in this Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate advancement of knowledge based on reciprocity-based efforts, mutual benefits and regular interactions

This MoU shall be valid for five years and may be extended for up to 5 years by mutual consent.
