At Mewasa, Devbhumi Dwarka District, bauxite occurs in irregular pockets within lateritic zones derived from altered Deccan Traps, overlain by thin limestone layers. The lease area includes eleven mine-pits with bauxite and potential for critical elements like Ga and V. Previous exploration revealed thin overburden of approx. 1m, occasional patches of limestone followed by 5 to 6m bauxite, but none of the bore holes reached the Deccan Trap. Higher-grade bauxite (PG) is found in irregular pockets and lenses within a largely bauxitic/lateritic terrain (mostly NPG), though data remains sketchy in several pits.

Exploratory drilling of 4000m has been initiated across the entire mining lease area to drill clay horizons and lithomarge along with bauxite. Litho-logging of boreholes to identify rock types and bauxitic zones, followed by systematic sampling and analysis of bauxitic horizons at one meter interval and clay bands for detailed analysis has been taken up.
